I’d sure like to know what made Leonardo da Vinci tick. It seems like there wasn’t anything this guy didn’t do.... The Mona Lisa, The Last Supper, Anatomical drawings, architecture, engineering and inventions. Lots of them. You can see 150 reproductions of his inventions ....
We were charmed by the interactive models of machines, warcraft and ingenious though ill fated attempts at flying vehicles
...mechanical devices ranging from gear systems to would – be flying machines, all built by Italian Artisans from Leonardo’s sketches are the stars of the show... Hands on versions of the machines are close to the ground for accessibility to bussing geniuses. The anatomical drawings are amazing.
The show can get the viewer's mind running.... It may be impossible to get anywhere near the ravenous,
encyclopedic mind of Leonardo and not marvel at the variety, complexity and unceasing
inventiveness of his imagination.
Where the exhibition succeeds is in bringing science projects to life, with enough hands on cranks, levers and pulleys to keep adventurous children entertained.
A new exhibition in San Francisco sheds light on the genius who, along with his artistic pursuits, was a scientist, architect, military strategist and anatomist.
I’m always bugged by self proclaimed Renaissance men, by every cheesy stage performer who also declares himself a painter. But take a peek into the mind of the real life role model is a positive jolt to anyone properly awestruck by genius.
...they (the organizers) did a fabulous job. Educators of children in middle school should make a field trip to this exhibition part of their courses in history, art and science. It is inspiring to see the product of a great human mind on display.
I feel certain the shows admission price will yield much richer dividends than comparable ticket price for the latest blockbuster (popcorn included) which i shelled out for later on that same afternoon. We marvelled at the range of Leonardo’s vision and how many of his implausible dreams have been realized in the ensuing centuries... it offers an experience that is tactically, intellectually and visually satisfying
This exhibit was very enlightening. I enjoyed the vast material presented. Thank you
Wonderful exhibit. Thanks to the geniuses who planned it. It is great to have an exhibit that adults and children can enjoy-together! - Forest Grove
There aren't words to describe it. Being an artist, it really impressed me how daVinci's sketches even were perfectly proportioned. There aren't words to describe it. You just have experience it.
I think it was a wonderful experience to see DeVinci's paintings and creations. It's not every day you see Devinci's inventions and art.
This was amazing! I learned so much about DaVinci that I didn't already know! I loved all the models! Fabulous job!
The best part of this exhibit was seeing and (some) using his prodotypes and inventions.
It was very enlightening and thorough!
Definitely enjoyed! Will be back.
The DaVinci exhibit is nothing short of amazing. It had no idea of the sheer brilliance of this great man.
Fabulous! Thank you for sharing this wonderful exhibit. It's amazing how amazing he was, and so multi-talented. Just a wonderful experience.
This is amazing. I had no idea Leonardo came up with so many practical things we use today.
Pretty magnificent exhibit. I don't know how you all put it together. Makes one ponder as one leaves as how insignificant we can be, how miraculous Leonardo was! We should hope to attain 1/500th of his impression of a few people!
As a mechanical engineer, I can really appreciate all of the complex thought processes that he inspired in, not only himself, but also other.
Most excellent exhibit. How fortunate we are to be able to experience this. Did the man never sleep? And if he did, what did he dream about!
This exhibit is the most interesting exhibit I have ever seen. It simply was wonderful. What a genius DaVinci was.
The exhibit was amazing! I loved learning about the secrets of the Mona Lisa.
Amazing and well put together, extremely historic. I learned so much while going through this exhibit.
A delight to see into a mind so inspired by the natural world. Thanks for putting this together.
He was quite remarkable and so was this exhibit -- quite inspiring and informative.
Fabulous exhibit -- Forthright and easy for children. OMSI and excellence are truly synonamous.
